We booked a room in 1 of the mini mansions, The Jefferson. Very quiet, very clean and very comfortable. ALL STAFF has been very nice/friendly and made us feel welcomed. The property is great, plenty of walking trails. The self guided tour of the historic mansion was great! The resort just happened to not have any big events this weekend so it felt as if we had the place to ourselves, a big bonus for us! Would highly recommend Berryhill to friends and family.

I stayed here during a business trip to Danville, and while it meant a 45-minute commute in the morning, I’m glad I made the choice. The property has a mix of Southern charm and character, with plenty of space to walk around (even a small graveyard if you’re in the mood for something spooky). The breakfast buffet was solid—the blueberry coffee cake stood out and was excellent, kudos to whoever made that. A few small things could make the experience even better: clear notes about the robes and extra blanket in the cabinet (I missed them at first when I tried to pull the door and maybe a mix of exhaustion thought it was locked and you couldn’t access), some light background music in the breakfast area, warmer chafing dishes for the egg bites, and maybe repositioning the plates closer to the food instead of the coffee. Staff were attentive—I was even checked on when I looked a little too aimlessly curious while wandering the grounds. It’s clear a lot of care goes into maintaining the property. I’d stay again on my next trip to the area. You can’t beat the price…..

We went for my wife’s birthday as an overnight get away and spa day for her. I would have loved to give a 100% positive for the occasion. The good: the spa was absolutely wonderful. Everything was on time and relaxing. The views are great and the room was good. We had an issue with the sink being clogged but maintenance took care of it in the time we ate on site. The bad: First, parking is difficult. Basically create your own spot which we managed. Mostly, we’re left unimpressed by the dining on site. We went to the Darby and were sat right away. I ordered a drink and it came out quickly. Then, we were forgotten…around 45 minutes passed and my wife asked for someone to come take our order. Once the food came out my wife’s salad had chicken that looked like it was cooked the day before. She barely touched it. The waitress did say she would take it off the bill but my wife was still hungry. We went to the mansion where the mansion restaurant and library are and we found the library which served appetizers. We were looking at the menu and a hostess came up and told us that we couldn’t order because a private party had that whole section reserved. So my wife went without dinner on our initial night. In summary, the grounds are nice and they hold several events to keep the stay interesting, but seem not to prioritize all people in the same manner.

We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our destination wedding than The Berry Hill Resort and Convention Center. Our planning journey began nine months before the big day. After touring several venues in the Richmond area and feeling underwhelmed, we discovered Berry Hill—two hours away, but absolutely worth the drive. The pricing and amenities almost sounded too good to be true, so we fully expected to find a flaw when we visited. Instead, we fell completely in love. The moment we walked into the mansion, we knew it was the place. It was even more beautiful in person—grand, elegant, and full of character. An added bonus was that everything was handicap accessible, which was essential for my dad and made the weekend comfortable and stress-free for him. Our original coordinator was knowledgeable, friendly, laid-back, and made the entire planning process incredibly smooth. She even gave us her personal cell phone number and was always prompt, responsive, and reassuring. About three months before the wedding, she left the venue, which could have introduced stress, but Stephanie stepped in immediately. She introduced herself, explained her years of experience, and let us know we were in great hands. She was absolutely right. Stephanie handled the final planning, rehearsal, ceremony, and reception with total precision. She anticipated every detail and managed each part of the wedding flawlessly. I felt confident every step of the way that nothing would be overlooked—and nothing was. The staff overall was excellent. The hotel rooms were gorgeous and surprisingly affordable, making it easy for guests traveling from out of town. The event spaces were stunning and grand, offering an experience that felt luxurious without the luxury price tag. Truly—you get twice the wedding for half the price. The grounds were beautiful for our mid-November outdoor wedding, and both the food at Darby’s Tavern and the reception were fantastic. If you’re considering Berry Hill for your wedding: run, don’t walk, to book it. It exceeded every expectation and gave us the perfect wedding day. We could not be more grateful.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are quite large and there's plenty of food options. We didn't stop for continental breakfast, instead we had brunch in the mansion. Brunch was very good and our server was hospitable, and prompt. I had a massage at the spa and a refresher nail service. Prices were reasonable. We would stay here again.

We celebrated a wedding at this venue. I cannot say one bad thing!!! Everything was 5 star. The Darby Tavern was my favorite. The food was spot on and the service was top notch. The staff were always as pleasant and helpful as they could be. The views were spectacular and grounds were very well maintained. The history tidbits placed randomly made you go back in time as to how the country lived hundreds of years ago. I recommend this venue 100% and would love to go back for things such as Murder Mystery Night

I recently had my wedding at berry hill on 12/14/24. Selena and her entire crew were amazing. Selena went above and beyond our expectations. The venue was beautifully decorated for Christmas and if there was a problem then she was quick to resolve it. I had a problem with the hotel staff during our stay but she was quick to let the manager know about the issue and it was resolved. We ended up staying in one of the mini mansion and we honestly loved it! It had enough room for my mom in a wheelchair (the entrance into the mini does not have a ramp we were able to get her in with assistance) my sister and hair team and our sweet lab to get ready and have plenty of room. I would 1000000% recommend having your event or wedding at berry hill. I would just be aware of the hotel staff can be rude and be sure to let the lovely manager at the hotel know if you have any issues!!
